For some reason or other, messages go unsent, thoughts remain unrelayed, and communication is hindered everyday. Sometimes technology hinders communication or grants recipients the authority to refuse information: blocked text message, failed signal, caller-ID, incorrectly typed e-mail address, inability to locate an address, poor Skype resolution, someone deleted you on Facebook, letter lost in the mail, incorrect postage, etc. Let’s not be too hard on technological advancement; there are, of course, countless ways in which it’s revolutionized dissemination. Certainly, we can’t always blame the lack of correspondence on external factors. Sometimes the problem is rooted in the sender: fear, intimidation, no way to contact the recipient, deafness, speech impairment, illiteracy, agoraphobia, etc. I’m providing an avenue for breaking down these walls. With a middle (wo)man committed to delivering these hard to handle memos, hopefully we can begin to cut away at the silence that oftentimes befalls us.
Error 553 is providing a message delivery service for these messages free of charge. In exchange for labor, permission to document the delivery of the messages for the public is requested, but the recipient and/or sender may remain anonymous. Messages may be delivered in a variety of formats(i.e. snail mail, video documentation, hand delivery, telephone calls, etc.), however hand delivered messages or otherwise person-to-person contact is only available for recipients in the Portland area. Don’t hesitate; every request, from the obliquely mundane to the dangerously life altering, will be considered!
